Walk-in Pantries for Handmade Kitchens
A handmade kitchen is undeniably special—the craft, the unique character, and the feeling that it was created just for you. A luxury kitchen is a space that’s not just functional but deeply personal. And if you’re investing in a bespoke project, why not elevate its practicality with the ultimate culinary luxury: a walk-in pantry or scullery?
More Than Just Storage
A walk-in pantry in a handmade kitchen isn’t just extra storage; it’s an extension of the meticulous design and thoughtful functionality. It’s a testament to your passion for cooking and a statement of the seamless blend of form and purpose by your chosen designer and maker. A walk-in pantry is a dedicated space where all your culinary essentials are neatly organised and readily accessible. From handcrafted shelves to hidden appliances, all with bespoke detailing that echoes the luxury kitchen’s design. A walk-in pantry offers effortless organisation, a beautiful aesthetic, custom lighting, increased space and functionality and seamless integration of the essentials.
Here are our favourite walk-in pantries in our handmade kitchen projects that have elevated the heart of our clients’ homes, transforming them into more organised, efficient, and beautiful spaces.
The North London Kitchen
The North London Kitchen project is a delightful example of an extensive renovation that achieves a modern yet warm luxury kitchen. It features stunning Arbescato marble and oak-finished detail. Our client wanted optimal storage and functionality, so we designed a walk-in pantry. It is a thoughtfully designed area providing ample storage space for kitchen essentials and a concealed Fisher & Paykel freezer, keeping the main kitchen area clutter-free. This pantry space, featuring a striking marble-clad archway, is complete with three drawers and a marble worktop, making it perfect for preparing tea and coffee while keeping essentials neatly organised and easily accessible.
The Georgian Townhouse Kitchen in Bath
We worked with a Grade I-listed home for the Georgian Townhouse Kitchen in Bath. The stunning property was under complete renovation, so our design team embarked on reinventing the kitchen space. Our brief was to create a sophisticated, luxury kitchen that highlights the original features. The other key aspect included a much-needed dining space and a functional pantry. Our design team created a bespoke kitchen design with a layout that maximised natural light, allowing it to flow unobstructed into the room. We designed a kitchen island and architectural room-dividing cabinetry to separate the kitchen from the new kitchen pantry. Our design incorporated bespoke reeded glass double pocket doors with padded glazing to ensure effortless opening, revealing the most elegant pantry space with original Georgian architectural features. The pantry includes two full-height refrigerators and freezers by Miele and all the essentials the family needs. The finished luxury kitchen became a classically sophisticated yet contemporary kitchen in Bath.
The Cotswolds Manor House Kitchen
An example of clever scullery design can be found in a 17th-century Grade II-listed home in the Cotswolds near Oxford. We designed The Cotswolds Manor House Kitchen in a space featuring period details such as inglenook fireplaces, stone fireplaces, mullion windows, exposed timbers, flagstone floors, and wooden panelled window seats. The homeowners wanted the kitchen to be practical and in keeping with the traditional Georgian style. We designed a bespoke kitchen with a walk-in pantry with a Sub Zero wine store to complement the kitchen. In addition to ancillary storage, the space also accommodated a washing machine and dryer. Our clients were avid dog lovers, so we also created a shower and sink station by the back door, allowing their beloved pets to be comfortable and clean.
