At Papilio Bespoke Kitchens, we love the southwest of England and have a particular soft spot for beautiful Bath. Eager to discover the latest interior finds from homeware to teaware, art and rare magazines, we love nothing more than a stroll through the historic streets. You never know when inspiration may strike in one of the many independent boutiques and shops.
8 Holland Street – Gallery & Shop
8 Holland Street is a marvellous gallery space, design studio and shop. The sister gallery space to their London site, the Bath space emphasises smaller products and homeware, including textiles, ceramics and contemporary design.
At Papilio Bespoke Kitchens, we particularly love their range of lighting inspired by Alessandro Mazzucotelli and Louis Kalff and their collection of vintage Italian mirrors. The founder, Tobias Vernon, also offers services in sourcing art, furniture and interior design pieces to perfectly accentuate any space in the home, including kitchens.
Found – Interiors & Fashion
The independent Found is an ‘original store’ that looks for the undiscovered, the classic and the contemporary. Voted one of ‘50 Best Boutiques outside London’ by The Telegraph, we love their hand-selected homewares and kitchenware. When visiting Bath, we’re often found perusing their tea towel range to style a photo shoot for our latest handmade kitchen project.
Magalleria Bath – Magazine Shop
For fans of independent magazines, Magalleria in Bath is really worth a browse. We love styling our bespoke kitchens with unique magazines and books, which can really accentuate a space. The fine, independent and specialist titles range from practical to obscure subjects ranging from art to interior design to garden or food and drink.
Comins Tea House – Teas and Teaware
Comins Tea House is one of our favourite tea shops in Somerset. The independently run tea house sells and serves single estate and rare loose-leaf teas in their café-shop-gallery space in Bath. Comins Tea House also runs workshops and tastings to turn your tea brewing into an art form. We also love their beautiful range of teawares! If you’re a tea lover, then your kitchen deserves a browse of their selection of British, Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese teaware.
Homefront Interiors – Interiors & Rare Finds
Homefront Interiors in the heart of Bath, Somerset offers unique homewares. They aim to create a destination for sustainable living and artisanal homewares focusing on local artists and makers. From art prints to soft furnishings, vintage finds and even paint, interior design lovers will find this shop a delight. We particularly like their selection of handmade tableware, and glassware and you often won’t find their curated items anywhere else.
