Papilio Kitchen’s Favourite Interiors Stores in Bristol

Bristol has to be one of our favourite cities. At Papilio Bespoke Kitchens, we love its creativity, spirit and energy. Of course, it’s edgy, and there is a myriad of talented designers and makers living and working there, and we’re always very inspired when visiting Bristol.

One of our favourite pastimes, when we have a rare day off, is to browse the many independent interiors boutiques and stores dotted across the city. Each one offers something new and exciting, and we often find inspiration for our handmade kitchens in the process.

When you’re next in Bristol, why not pop into some of our favourite furniture, interiors and vintages stores!

Mon Pote – Scandinavian Interiors & Accessories

Mon Pote is an excellent home interiors and accessories store selling Scandinavian brands including House Doctor, Hubsch and Broste Copenhagen. Their curated range of kitchen ceramics and tableware are particularly worth a visit to the shop in Bristol. There is something very Hygge about their collection which will suit Scandinavian kitchens up and down the country.

Old Market Plants – House Plants

We’re big on houseplants here at Papilio Kitchens and love designing handmade kitchens with plants in mind. In the heart of the city, Old Market Plants is not just a stunning shop full of rare and unusual flora but offers an Interior Plantscaping service to help customers place the perfect house plants in their homes.

Soma Gallery – Contemporary Art & Prints

Soma specialises in limited editions by illustrators and printmakers. They also host a series of exhibitions and have branched out to sell handmade ceramics and textiles. Although they are concentrating on their online store and art fairs, their astute eye for talent is fantastic if you’re looking for independent art prints for your home.

Prior – Sustainable Interior Design

Prior showcases over 150 sustainable designers in their two shops in Bristol. Not only that, but it is also an independent non-profit enterprise that genuinely epitomises the city’s spirit. Committed to a sustainable lifestyle, interior design and accessories, we love their eye for good design. From ceramics to tableware to handmade textiles, Prior is the ideal place to shop for your bespoke kitchen.

Rag & Bone – Vintage Interiors & Rare Finds

As you’d expect from the name, Rag & Bone is a rare store in Bristol where you can unearth excellent quality vintage interiors pieces and unusual homewares. From crystal chandeliers to mid-century tableware and glassware, we’ve even found 19th-century oil paintings! To date, two of the finest finds has to be the ‘Skyscraper’ dining table by Charles Hollis Jones and dining chairs by Niels Otto Møller. The focus here is on excellent quality, so you’ll only find unique, timeless pieces.
