At Papilio, we specialise in creating beautiful, bespoke kitchens and luxury-fitted furniture with timeless elegance. We make unique kitchens, personal to individuals and functional for families.
One important aspect of our consultation, design and build process is the selection of appliances for our handmade kitchens. We’ve spent years researching and testing some of the best kitchen technology, hardware and accessory brands because our luxury kitchens deserve the best.
The old saying that you get what you pay for rings true when planning and designing a handcrafted kitchen that incorporates traditional techniques and only the finest, responsibly sourced materials and technology. We only want to work with the best brands for our clients and their handmade kitchens, so we have compiled a guide of personally tested (and loved) kitchen appliances and accessories brands.
Miele
Miele is a global premium brand of appliances with the very highest quality standards. We should know because we have been working with the brand for years, and we’re impressed by Miele’s continuous strive for innovation.
We used Miele appliances in our Fulham Kitchen project in London. Along with the client, we selected appliances from the Miele catalogue for their unprecedented reliability and good looks. The choice was important for function and longevity but also for the design aesthetic of the Scandinavian kitchen.

Bora
Bora offers innovative, stylish extractors, cooktops and ovens. They are “revolutionising the kitchen as a living space with extraordinary products for extraordinary experiences,” and we agree!
For our Frome Kitchen in Somerset, we chose the ultimate cook tool, the Bora Pro induction hob with built-in extraction, catering for the chef in the family. Conveniently sunken into the worksurface, it married beautifully with the mid-century style of the handmade kitchen. As a result, our client received not only a truly bespoke kitchen in their Edwardian Manor house but a living space for cooking, entertaining and family time at its heart.

Wolf
Wolf designs luxury appliances and has been leading the line in home refrigeration and cooking for over seventy years. Much-accredited by high-profile celebrity chefs, Wolf’s appliances are meticulously crafted and expertly engineered, bringing professional quality to the home.
We chose a Wolf range cooker for our Bath Kitchen project in North Somerset. We designed and built a modern yet classic take on the mission-style kitchen for the family. Their impeccable style and taste was reflected in the choice of materials and kitchen appliances. With its sturdy construction and professional standards, the Wolf range cooker reiterated the innovative and modern kitchen.

Waterworks
Waterworks design and manufacture high-end taps of artisanal quality for discerning homeowners. With over forty years of experience and classic design aesthetics, their kitchen hardware is elegant, well-made and iconic. We chose their luxurious faucets for our Georgian Manor House Kitchen project in Bristol. The Scandinavian kitchen incorporated crisp, clean lines and textures of the pale wood, which was accentuated by the unique Gooseneck regulator taps in antique brass.

Perrin and Rowe
Perrin and Rowe create quality kitchen fittings right here in Britain, and their beautiful ranges include brassware, taps and accessories. With a focus on traditional manufacturing using state-of-the-art technology to support their traditional methods and skills. We designed Shaker-style cabinetry painted in dark hues for our Bath Kitchen project in North Somerset. We then contrasted them with state-of-the-art appliances and taps by Perrin and Rowe to celebrate the architecture of the grand old rectory, dating back to the 19th century.

Zip
Zip design and manufacture award-winning water technology for the home. They created the world’s first boiling water tap, which has revolutionised how we now boil, chill and even carbonate water. Hugely popular and a must in any luxury kitchen, we love their innovation and utility.
We installed two Zip taps in our Frome Kitchen project in Somerset. Set in the sinks under parallel sash windows, separating the dedicated washing-up space from a drinks area. The family wanted the latest technology in their mid-century style kitchen, which worked beautifully in the juxtaposition.
