It’s that time of year when we’re feeling festive, thankful and considering new year projects in our homes. But, as one of the most important rooms of any house, the kitchen is often one of the first in need of modernisation, redesign or improvement.
If you’re dreaming of remodelling your kitchen, Papilio Bespoke Kitchens can create exquisite, high quality, handmade designer kitchens. Our bespoke kitchens are crafted with the finest materials. As a result, we make kitchens that are unique, personal to individuals and functional for families.
But before you start dreaming about your perfect new kitchen, here are a few points to consider.
Create a Wish-List
Creating a wish list is crucial in determining what you want in your new kitchen. First, consider what is a ‘must’ for your new designer kitchen. Is entertaining important? Are you keen on the latest technology in appliances, or do you wish for clever storage to display your homewares, art and kitchenware? Perhaps your beloved pets require their own little space to relax, wash and eat, or you want a kitchen island that will be the envy of your friends and neighbours? Whatever your heart desires, write it down. Our expert bespoke kitchens design team will liaise with you on every aspect of your new kitchen design and help you determine was is achievable.
Set a Budget
It’s imperative to set out a budget from the outset. For obvious reasons, handmade kitchens will inevitably cost considerably more than off-the-shelf or flat pack kitchens. Your budget will need to cover design, planning, installation, appliances, worktops, bespoke design features and project managing, so be prepared. A stunning luxury kitchen will no doubt increase the value of your property, but it can become much more than an investment. At Papilio, we’ve designed handmade kitchens across the south west, including Bristol, Bath, Bruton and Frome, but also in London, the Cotswolds, and beyond, and each of our kitchen design projects has been entirely unique. Not one of our kitchens is the same, and we work closely with our clients to create kitchen spaces that meet expectations and exceed them.
Consider Materials
Considering materials is often the job of the kitchen designer. At Papilio, we can introduce you to wonderfully modern engineered materials such as Richlite, unusual uses for metals such as copper and a plethora of fantastic real-wood veneers, natural timber and of course, stone such as marble or granite. We say ‘consider materials’ because we want to know what your dream designer kitchen may feel like. Do you want a textured wooden feel to your kitchen or a sleek and contemporary one? Are you dreaming of natural light, reflective surfaces, or clean white tones? Even if you don’t know exactly which materials you want your new kitchen to feature, your ideas will help our kitchen designers to create your perfect kitchen.
How Will You Use Your Kitchen?
Another, perhaps obvious point, is how you might use your kitchen. Of course, cooking will be at the top of your list, but if you entertain a lot, or have a large family, or have pets to consider, the overall design of your handmade kitchen will need to accommodate your lifestyle. Our clients have been as unique as our kitchens, and with each new project, we’re challenged and delighted to be able to design an outstanding, bespoke solution for every project.
It’s now time to stop dreaming of perfect designer kitchens and start planning. We’re on hand to discuss your requirements and to offer years of experience in delivering truly bespoke kitchens.
