Is a bespoke kitchen the right choice for you?

Choosing a new kitchen is an exciting time. One of the big choices you’ll have to make is whether you go down the route of an off-the-shelf or bespoke kitchen.

Your first consideration might well be the budget you’ve got to work with. While the results look stunning and fit perfectly into your life, a bespoke kitchen will cost more. Starting at around £20,000 before appliances, you’ll need to begin with a budget of about £25,000.

Selecting a bespoke kitchen designer means finding one you can work well with. Thanks to the control you’ll get over the end result, you’ll be working closely with the designer from day one. While choosing a non-bespoke modular kitchen, you’re limited to the existing designs. With a bespoke kitchen, the sky is the limit and you’ll have input into every aspect of your kitchen.

You might also be looking for something unique, a one of a kind look that matches you, your family and your home. This can only be found in bespoke kitchens since it’ll be all yours, and only yours. The way the kitchen flows, the little design touches, they’ll all work in your home perfectly and won’t be found anywhere else.

This made to fit approach can work really well with properties that are a little different. If your home is a bit older or has a look that is “just so”, a bespoke kitchen will match the space far better than a modular one selected from a catalogue. If you’re a discerning collector of wine or rare kitchenware, you’ll find that having a designer create something bespoke allows you to pick space to show off your much-loved collection.

If you’re in the process of building or converting a property, do give a bespoke kitchen thought early on in the process. The sooner your designer can see what you have planned, and talk about your needs, the greater the number of options they can present you with. We’d recommend getting a kitchen designer onboard before works commence. Also bear in mind that there is a minimum lead time of at least three months, so an early start will prevent work blockages later on.

If you’ve ever had a kitchen unit develop a wobble or a cabinet door stop closing tightly, then you’ll know the frustration of a lower quality kitchen. A bespoke kitchen offers unrivalled quality and choice of materials. There are some amazing materials out there that can produce amazing looks with fantastic quality levels (our current favourite is Richlite, a revolutionary material!). This shows in both the feel of how things work and flow, as well as how long they last. ‘Lasting a lifetime’ is not a boast to take lightly, but our kitchens are designed and built with exactly this mantra in mind.

The range of options, outstanding quality, and uniqueness are factors that might well make a bespoke kitchen the right way to bring some added luxury into your home if you’ve got the budget.
