Studio Ore is one of Papilio’s preferred hardware suppliers for several reasons. Their hand-crafted taps are not only beautiful but made to last. As a bespoke kitchen designer, we work with them for their ethos, design, and hand-craft tradition, and their kitchen taps suit many styles, from contemporary kitchens to traditional kitchens.
Studio Ore designs and makes hand-crafted finished brass taps for kitchens and bathrooms. The hardware is produced in small batches, and they finish and assemble each product by hand with the care and attention of craftspeople. Components are machined from solid brass billet, not plated from castings. Their sustainable range is now available with low-lead recycled brass, bronze, and aged iron live finishes protected with natural wax and minimal use of plastics.
Studio Ore is the brainchild of founder Daniel Lee. After undertaking a renovation project in 2014, he envisaged beautiful brass taps that would showcase the natural properties of the metal and develop a unique character over time. Daniel looked everywhere; he found many artificially aged products but nothing resembling what he had in mind. And so, he decided to return to his roots in engineering and set about designing the taps himself. It became clear that Daniel wasn’t the only person who believed that taps were ripe for reinvention, and enquiries poured in, demand grew, and Studio Ore was established.
Our Alpine Ski Chalet Kitchen in France is one of our exciting new bespoke kitchens. Our design team envisioned a functional yet modern kitchen that pays homage to the barn’s rustic origins. The wooden beams and windows, high ceilings, and spectacular natural vistas inspired us to create a luxurious yet honest kitchen with stunning features, including taps by Studio Ore. To complement the rustic timber cabinets and kitchen island, we chose a black granite sink and a stunning Radomonte Kato single-lever mixer tap by Studio Ore, adding a touch of elegance to the kitchen. We teamed the two key design features with diamond black Richlite to offer a minimal contemporary look and practical benefits for the bespoke kitchen.
We also chose Studio Ore taps for our Richlite Kitchen project. Another contemporary kitchen design featuring black tones and oak, we crafted a pair of bespoke black limestone sinks in black limestone with visible fossils that date back millions of years. A pair of brass taps by Studio Ore was the perfect choice, with handmade antiqued brass handles to compliment the dark stone and ‘diamond black’ Richlite cabinet doors. The result was a stunningly unique contemporary kitchen, demonstrating the highest craftsmanship quality.
