When designing a kitchen, light is everything. It determines the whole ambiance of the room and the choices you make with colours, materials and textures. Crittall windows bring modern Bauhaus energy into your kitchen, bathing your kitchen in light.
As bespoke kitchen designers, Papilio bespoke kitchens always begin with envisaging the natural light available currently in the space. Surveying the existing space thoroughly is key to deciding where to situate task areas.
Would you like to relish a view of your beautiful garden as you savour your dinner or as you drain your fresh pasta in a Belfast sink? Our bespoke kitchen company can design a solution to fit your requirements.
Papilio bespoke kitchens design predominately for older properties. We are experts in dealing with thick-framed, small windows that tend to let in little light. Crittall fits in perfectly with such properties, as long as they are not listed. With its thin elegant frame and dark metal it harkens back to hand-forged frames of old and is super trendy!
Then, we design a detailed lighting plan. From the get-go, we explore and determine your main, task and ambient (decorative) needs. Next, we come up with beautiful, intelligent solutions.
Getting an idea of lighting at the start of the project is as important as the kitchen layout. Our bespoke kitchen designers will make sure all the lighting works in tandem with how you move around your kitchen as you use it day to day.
We replaced the window of the Bath Kitchen, completely changing its atmosphere. The elegant Crittall windows fit in perfectly with the simple shaker style cabinetry and perfectly frame the view over the outdoor pool and manicured garden.
The original steel window manufacturers, Crittall windows fit perfectly in the most contemporary kitchens and the most traditional kitchens. With over 200 years of experience, we at Papilio as a bespoke kitchen company love working with them.
Crittall windows add an industrial feel to your kitchen. Bring elements from the Bauhaus movement into your space. Blend aesthetics with everyday functionality: a perfect motto for any bespoke kitchen.
Maximise natural light from your window with the Fenestra joint (patented by Crittall) that slims the bars of the window while keeping the strength of the steel window.
A whole wall of Crittall windows will feature in Fulham Kitchen, one of Papilio’s newer projects. For this ultra-modern kitchen in a Victorian townhouse, we’re flooding the space with natural light with large Crittall doors and windows. This bespoke kitchen doubles up as a dining room and living space, the real centre of the home.
You’re in good company if you choose Crittall windows. Used for historical and modern buildings alike, you can see their creations on Tower Bridge, the BBC Offices and the Houses of Parliament. Back in 1910, Crittall were even used on the RMS Titanic!
In the Chef’s Kitchen, our bespoke kitchen company installed a high-end lighting system that enables the family to control the colour and brightness of all the artificial lights. It’s one of the favourite contemporary kitchens we’ve designed and won a Building Excellence Award in 2016.
Crittall windows stunningly expose your kitchen to natural light. Brilliantly illuminate your kitchen from floor to ceiling. Your kitchen space will feel larger, more open and more inviting.
