Christmas Gifts for Foodies
As bespoke kitchen designers, we love our food and anything relating to the kitchen. We spend more time in handmade kitchens than anywhere else. Of course, we need to feed our bodies and minds, and we’re always thrilled when loved ones surprise us with foodie gifts.
This festive season, we will be downing tools and taking a well-deserved break from designing bespoke ketches, but until we do, we have created a Christmas gift for foodie’s guide to inspire the chefs in your life. Here are some of our favourite edible and drinkable treats. We hope you enjoy them!
Artisan Gin Hamper Set

The Artisan Gin Hamper Set from The Newt in Somerset is an excellent gift for gin lovers everywhere. One of our favourite local places to visit is a 2000-acre farm in Somerset. They grow, make, butcher and bake some of the finest produce in the Southwest. There’s also a hotel, restaurants and gardens, orchards, polytunnels and glasshouses, and they produce their own meat, apples for their cyder, milk for their cheese, and fresh garden crops for their restaurants and veg boxes.
The Artisan Gin Hamper Set is a special hamper to delight the gin and tonic lover. It features two of their craft gins – Apple Gin, inspired by the flavours of The Newt, and Clementine Gin, made with sun-kissed citrus from Babylonstoren in South Africa. The lovely gift also includes their tonic waters, truffle-roasted nuts and herby olives to nibble while you sip.
Fiasconaro x Dolce & Gabbana Pistachio Panettone

Every Christmas table is complete with a luxurious Panettone. The Fiasconaro x Dolce & Gabbana pistachio panettone with pistachio cream comes in a stunning dark green or red illustrated tin. Each sourdough cake is wrapped with ribbon and presented in a vibrant hat box-style tin. The tin also includes a small golden panettone knife for spreading pistachio cream. The panettone is coated with a white chocolate glaze, and decorated with whole Sicilian pistachios.
Fiasconaro was founded in Castelbuono, Sicily, in 1953 by Mario Fiasconaro. Mario started as an ice cream maker and pastry chef, and his first great masterpieces were mountains of profiteroles. His three sons began learning the art of pastry when they were children. Today, the three brothers still lead the company.
As big foodies, we love to shop at Sous Chef. Their collection of delicious treats will suit every home chef, and their wares will look stunning in any bespoke kitchen.
Ceremonial Matcha Tea Set

The Full Ceremonial Matcha Tea Set from Moicha is a delightful gift for tea lovers who enjoy the finer things in life. Matcha is high-quality green tea in powder form. It’s the most prestigious tea in Japan. The tea plant is grown under the shade to make more nutrients, then ground into a powder so the whole leaf and all the benefits are fully ingested.
Matcha is a step beyond the humble team bag, full of well-being benefits, and we love it. It also requires care when making, so the matcha set makes creating a true matcha ceremonial style effortless. Plus, the gift box contains beautiful ceramics and accessories to suit most handmade kitchens.
Gourmet Marshmallows

We don’t think that we have seen prettier marshmallows anywhere else. The Marshmallowist was founded in 2011 and is the first gourmet marshmallow maker in the UK. Their marshmallows are handmade, and as a progressive food company, they aim to make our business both meaningful and sustainable.
Their flavour combinations range from raspberry and champagne to passion fruit and ginger, and not only are they delicious, but the packaging is luxurious yet fun. We love their Festive Treat Box with wintery flavours.
Fresh Wasabi Grow Kit

The Fresh Wasabi Grow Kit from the Wasabi Company is a fantastic gift for foodies with green fingers. The Wasabi Company started as a watercress farm. Since the 1850s, watercress has been grown in their Dorset and Hampshire sites, but when a chef visited them in 2010, they thought of diversifying. When he saw their farm, he remarked that the only other crop growing in similar conditions was wasabi in Japan. That was enough to plant the seed.
The Fresh Wasabi Grow Kit is one of their most popular gift packs (although they also sell fantastic sake and kitchen accessories). It includes a generous amount of fresh wasabi, a grating kit and a wasabi plant that can be grown in the garden or in a pot. Plants also make fantastic houseplants, and leaves, leaf stems, and flowers can all be eaten while the precious rhizomes form at the base of the plant. Comes with a fresh wasabi preparation and storage guide and a complete growing guide that details how to plant, raise and harvest your wasabi.
So not only is this gift tasty, but the wasabi plant can look fantastic on handmade kitchen windowsills.
A Chocolate Tree

You can’t have Christmas without chocolate, and we love Chococo. Founded by husband and wife team Andy and Claire Burnet, they have been making fine fresh handmade chocolates since December 2002 on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. They are one of the first UK artisan chocolatiers to pioneer making genuinely fresh chocolates, using locally sourced seasonal ingredients, including local fresh cream, blended with fine-origin chocolate with no additives or preservatives.
The Chococo Oat M!lk Chocolate Christmas Tree is delightfully modern looking and hand-painted with white ‘snow’. The chocolate tree is crafted from 43% Colombian cocoa and dairy-free milk. It’s delicious, we can confirm and comes in beautifully graphic (plastic-free) packaging. It’s tasty, bold and festive, what else could you need?
