At Papilio Bespoke Kitchens, we design luxury kitchens that transform spaces into inspirational environments that are both functional and enjoyable. Our bespoke kitchens are created with twenty years of expertise, vision and a commitment to sustainability for customers across Bristol and beyond.
Our expertise lies in excellent craftsmanship, and our luxury kitchens are hand-crafted by master cabinet makers, design innovation and the latest technology. That’s why our custom-made cabinets are always bespoke and entirely tailored to your needs.
When considering a new bespoke kitchen, cabinetry will form the crux of the decision-making. Consider what kind of cabinetry your new kitchen will need. Will you want to add height and light to the room by adding legs or creating floor-to-ceiling cabinets that hide clutter and house innovative technology? Will your cabinetry have a modern look, or do you prefer a more traditional style? Have you always dreamed of a pantry (and many of us have!), or perhaps you’d like a storage unit to divide a larger space?
Whatever you have in mind, we can help. Below, we look at different cabinet ideas for luxury kitchen designs.
Mid-Century Inspired Kitchen

For our Mid-Century Inspired Kitchen near Bristol in Somerset, we designed low cabinets along the perimeter wall with golden tones of American black walnut, topped with cool Carrara marble with stylish handle cut-out detail to recognise the mid-century influence. We also designed tall cabinets on the opposite side of the kitchen to contrast the low-level cabinets. Finished in walnut with a red tint and cut-out handles running the full height of the cabinets. A fridge freezer by Fisher and Paykel is hidden away in the tall bank of cabinets. Pocket doors tuck back to reveal a coffee-making station and small sink complete with the boiling water tap by Zip. Central to this piece of furniture are doors that fold back neatly into a recess to reveal the walk-in pantry and a plethora of additional storage space.
The Georgian Townhouse Kitchen

We designed a luxury kitchen with contemporary elements for our Georgian Townhouse Kitchen in Bath, Somerset, highlighting the original period features. The brief also incorporated much-needed dining space and a functional pantry. As the room led straight to the courtyard garden, the cabinetry for the pantry was designed as a feature, functioning store and as an entertaining space.
The additional tall cabinetry in the main section of the kitchen houses a coffee station with book-matched oak veneer inner, task lighting and Zip boiling water tap—hiding away these much-used areas to keep the surfaces clutter-free.
The Clifton Kitchen

We transformed a newly built high-end space into a luxury kitchen for our Clifton Kitchen project in Bristol, Somerset. The peninsular cabinetry and the coffee/breakfast station were designed with some of the finest American walnut wood in the UK. Each door front was perfectly book matched, featuring an enflamed rich golden patina. The dedicated area also featured a tap by Zip providing instant boiling, chilled and sparkling water. We also created a hidden removable panel that doubles as an access point to the bread bin and a breadboard inside the bespoke floor-to-ceiling cabinetry. We highlighted the dedicated breakfast area beautifully with strategically placed lighting.
However you envisage your new dream luxury kitchen, consider its usage and functionality. Aesthetics will naturally follow your style, and remember that Papilio’s custom-made cabinets are always bespoke and entirely tailored to you.
