At Papilio bespoke kitchens our goal is to make every element of the kitchen, even the most practical, beautiful. We pride ourselves on producing innovative storage solutions, maximising on space and making storage an aesthetic feature of your kitchen, something more than basic necessity.
Following discussions with the client of ‘The Copper Kitchen’, we installed our eye-catching signature copper ice trough as the centrepiece of this contemporary kitchen island. The trough was set in a Neolith worktop and features LED interchangeable mood-lighting, perfect when you’re hosting a party and want to chill some champagne.
We at Papilio bespoke kitchens are wine lovers to the core. Our favourite storage solution is the superb SubZero Wolf wine storage. It’s not just a wine chiller, it features at least two independent storage and temperature zones. You won’t ever have to worry about your wines being spoiled by inferior storage and varying temperatures. You can browse their selection here.
Shelves offer an alternative to the traditional kitchen cabinets, tying open-plan living areas together. Display your favourite cookbooks in style, whether you’re a fan of Michel Roux, Delia Smith or Yotam Ottolenghi. Alternatively, bring some greenery into a Scandinavian kitchen with ferns or choose a low maintenance option like cacti. We can even combine shelves and cabinets on the same wall to provide various levels of storage, perfect if you have high ceilings in a smaller space.
For our recent Scandinavian kitchen project, the Victorian Town House Kitchen, we designed a bespoke floating shelf complete with reeded glass panels framed in brass, hinting at but not completely revealing the objects lying therein. The slimline downlights inside the sections gently highlight the selection of drinks, coffee accoutrements and teapots.
Enhance glass fronted cabinets and open shelving further with in-cabinet lighting, allowing you to show off your favourite porcelain crockery or glassware in your contemporary kitchen. It’s a key feature of The Copper Kitchen where it also emphasises the warm, metallic tones of the copper units.
Add targeted storage to your bespoke backsplash. A magnetic backsplash conveniently displays your knives so they are ready to grab when you need to chop something. Or, hang wire baskets to show off fresh organic produce: crisp apples for a crumble in the autumn or peaches ready for a tart in summer.
Recycling and refuse are (unfortunately!) necessary parts of every kitchen. As a bespoke kitchen company, Papilio can install a small bin drawer in your countertop so you can easily sweep any food scraps you’ve just chopped into it with the minimum of fuss. It’s also an excellent way to get some compost going!
Drawer organisation can be something of an annoyance but we have found that cork inners work wonders. Cork also combines a certain aesthetic appeal with the move towards softer natural materials as a contrast to sharper modern units.
We are Papilio bespoke kitchens, here to offer our expertise in designing all kinds of bespoke kitchens from a contemporary kitchen to a Scandinavian kitchen and more besides. Book a consultation today.
